Hela's sister Co., Somaki de Mexico was founded in 1989 to manufacture cleaning sponges. It started as a small 1 employee operation with 1 over-lock sewing machine very little money and lots of energy and high hopes.
2009 finds Somaki de Mexico as an ISO 9000 certified company with a 50,000 sq.ft. facility, 130 employees and a strongly vertically integrated production system with state of the art machinery.
